Poems - Random Thoughts

Be patient with life, despite its cruelty.
Often it seems careless of our pain,
But just as often brings us hope again.
Remember, I wanted happiness for you.

Under every foolish word this still was true.
Be happy, then, without, as you would with me.
In your life many sweet events remain.
In anguish and in joy - remember me.

Joy is not a treasure you can lose.
Unless you will not, you will be consoled.
Linger with me long as you may choose.
In music as in life no joy is cold.
Undo, then, the tight corset of your grief
So that you might enjoy the moment's keening.
Give ear to music, eloquent though brief,
Restoring to the miracle its meaning.
Of all we think and feel and say and do,
So little, really, must be bound by time.
Still palpable, I'm here with all of you,
Musical as ever in this rhyme.
All I was, I am, and yet will be,
No less in love, although in memory.

Mostly, I would like to be remembered
As someone who was passionate for life.
The days of unsought ecstasies are numbered,
However long we linger in the light.
I was one who cultivated wonder,
Less of one contented to explain,
Delighted by the promises of hunger,
Enduring for their joy the years of pain.
Gifts I had aplenty: Some I savored,
Others sacrificed for others' needs.
Remember me as someone who was favored,
Despite constraints, to tumble in the leads,
Ocean to what winds I could not be,
Nightrider through what worlds I could not see.

Understand death has no use for time.
No time is any better, any worse.
Cancel twenty years or eighty-nine,
Love's a loss one cannot reimburse.
Each of us lives for an eternity,
Dying only after our forever.
Early or late, we vanish equally,
All unconscious of the ties we sever,
No longer either separate or together

Accidents are rarely accidental,
Nor can one sparrow fall but all is changed,
Giving rise to ripples rearranged,
Evidence, albeit circumstantial,
Leading to one's living less estranged
As one finds sense in something sentimental

Chat on Yahoo Messenger with MSN IM users!

Its been years that the Instant Messaging (IM) users have been limited to use either Yahoo OR MSN OR AIM or any ONE of the other available options....this might not be the same for longer...

Yahoo and MSN have started cross IM testing across their systems...A limited public beta test hopefully begins today.... Consumers will be able to exchange instant messages, see presence, share emoticons and add friends from Yahoo! Messenger or MSN Messenger

From a joint statement issued by the two companies (spacing added):

Consumers worldwide from Microsoft and Yahoo! will be able to take advantage of IM interoperability and join the limited public beta program.

They will be among the first to exchange instant messages across the free services as well as see their friends' online presence, view personal status messages, share select emoticons, view offline messages and add new contacts from either service at no cost.

Yahoo! and Microsoft plan to make the interoperability between their respective IM services broadly available to consumers in the coming months.

However, nothing has been clarified on the revenue front as of now by either of the parties...and the issue of advertising revenue is not a minor one in this case...its HUGE!

All eyes will also be on the issue of what next after MSN and Yahoo link their IM networks? This is sure to give a new look to the landscape of the fragmented IM market. This is also the first partnership involving major players in the IM industry ready to connect their individual communication networks.

“Microsoft and Yahoo! look forward to bridging the divide between our global communities, creating richer and easier ways for our customers to connect,” said Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer of Microsoft. “IM interoperability is the right thing for our customers, our businesses and the industry as a whole, and Microsoft is delighted to help lead these efforts with Yahoo!”

“Yahoo! and Microsoft share a commitment to providing the highest-quality experience possible for consumers, and today’s groundbreaking announcement underscores our desire to provide consumer interoperability between our thriving IM communities,” said Terry Semel, chief executive officer, Yahoo! Inc. “This is truly a turning point for the IM industry, and we believe our agreement with Microsoft will help usher in a new era of IP communications.”

Research says this partnership will enable Yahoo and MSN command more than 44% of the IM market challenging the market leader AOL (56% market share with AIM and CIQ). However, the goal is not to compete AOL but to face the threats posed by voice chat and up and coming tools like Skype that lead the communication revolution currently....Also head to head is expected to be Google Talk....

Let the game begin guys.....:)

Little quirks about life

Little Quirks About Life You Notice By The Time You Are Fifty...

..Most people deserve each other
. ..All the good ones, no matter what it is, are taken
...The one who snores will fall asleep first
...The length of a marriage is inversely proportional to the amount of money spent on the wedding
...The gifts you buy your spouse are never as good and apropos as the gifts your neighbor buys their spouse
...Never get overly excited about a man/woman by just the way they look from behind
...If you help a relative in need, he/she will remember you the next time they are in need
...The probability of meeting someone you know increases greatly when you are out with someone you do not want to be seen with
...Toothaches always start on Friday night right before the weekend when the Dental Office will be closed
